Someone’s Here With Us That Wasn’t Here Before
In 1989 Maria (SONIA MANZANO) and her Sesame Street husband Luis (EMILIO DELGADO) were expecting their first child. Writer Cathi Rosenberg-Turow wrote the lyrics and I composed the music for this song. Sonia’s daughter Gabriela became Gabi on the show. The real life Gabriela is now in her mid 20s. Her mother is 36 in Muppet years.

Windy Day
Sung by Bob McGrath, Music by Stephen Lawrence, Lyrics by Madeline Sunshine

“If I Were,” AKA “Kermit’s Minstrel Song.” Quite exciting to watch Jim Henson performing it as Kermit The Frog. This is one of the earliest songs I composed for Sesame Street (1981). Lyrics by David Axlerod.

Ingrid, Humphrey, Natasha & Bob: “Oh Look What Our Baby Can Do”; Lyrics by Belinda Ward

Sesame Street Reggae : “Island Of Emotion” (animation by Sally Cruikshank, sung by Tyrone Davis); Lyrics by Mark Saltzman

Big Bird, Elmo, Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, Grover, and entire Sesame Street cast: “Faces That I Love.”; Lyrics by Lou Berger

Mothers And Children from Don’t Eat The Pictures, Sesame Street at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, sung by Alaina Reed; Lyrics by Tony Geiss.

Gina’s Dream. The lyrics are by Jon Stone, a member of the original creative team of Sesame Street. He asked me to compose the music in an operatic style. I played all the instruments, layer upon layer, in my electronic studio. Gina is played by Alison Bartlett and Wolfgang, the seal, by Kevin Clash.

Loving All Those Things. Recording the Muppets. After recording the band track for “Loving All Those Things,” I recorded myself singing Maria’s (Sonia Manzano) part in this duet with Oscar The Grouch (Caroll Spinney). Then Caroll recorded Oscar’s part. So here we have a duet between Oscar The Grouch and me. Those with keen ears will hear the click track at the beginning and some score shuffling here and there. These weren’t heard in the final mix. I composed the music. Lyrics by Jeff Moss.
